Canon thought of every detail when it came to building the ultimate large format production printer – no touch media loading, torque control on the take-up unit, a sub-ink tank system and a compact size, reaching a whole new level of performance.

 

Wide Colour Gamut:
The new LUCIA PRO ink system adopts newly formulated, microencapsulated 8 colour pigment inks. These inks help you achieve fantastic colour reproduction, image clarity, and fine lines, all ideal for creating vivid posters and advertising displays.

8 Colour Ink System:
To enhance print performance, the 8 colours use all 12 ink channels in the print head. The LUCIA PRO ink is arranged in a mirror layout on the print head, symmetrically arranging the colours. This layout allows for the same ejection order of the four key colours during the bi-directional printing process, resulting in faster print speeds.

 

Newly Developed Print Head:
At the heart of the imagePROGRAF PRO-540S printers is a newly developed wide, PF-10 print head with nozzles. Using one print head as opposed to two like previous imagePROGRAF 8 colour models, the new PRO Series is able to achieve faster print speeds.

Anti-Clogging Technology:
Ink ejection conditions are precisely checked with sensors, so if a clog is detected, another nozzle automatically provides backup. In addition to preventing wasted prints due to clogging, this also helps to reduce the frequency of nozzle cleaning.

No Switching of Black Inks:
The PRO Series is designed to work seamlessly when changing paper types. Matte Black and Photo Black inks have their own dedicated nozzles, so no switching is necessary. You can print on fine art paper then glossy paper with no worries, no changes, and no waste.

New High-Precision Control Engine:
Big jobs need fast processing. The imagePROGRAF printers are powered by the new L-COA PRO high-speed image processing engine. With three new processing chips, this high-precision control engine performs the processing of massive image data, generates the printing data, and controls the optimal ink layout that produces high-resolution prints, delivering supreme print quality at high speed.
